Dr. Sarah Piper

Sarah is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at MIPS, focused on biochemistry and cryo-electron microscopy of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). As the Executive Manager for Science Communications, she produces illustrations and animations of membrane protein structures for newsletters, websites and outreach for the CCeMMP.

Research Interests

Sarah’s research focus is membrane protein biochemistry, drug discovery as well as cryo-EM and data processing. She is also passionate about science visualisation. Her illustrations are based on experimental data and can communicate biological processes to a broader audience, or can simply be viewed as artistic pieces.
