Prof. Lezanne Ooi

Prof Lezanne Ooi is Group Leader of the Neurodevelopment and Neurodegeneration Lab, University of Wollongong. She was previously at the Institute of Membrane and Systems Biology, University of Leeds, UK, where she trained in a range of imaging and electrophysiology techniques to probe protein and membrane function.

Research Interests

The Ooi lab focuses on drug discovery and mechanisms controlling neuronal function and ion channel regulation in neurological diseases, neuroinflammation and neurodevelopment. Research interests include stem cell models, neural cell development, neurodegenerative diseases, and neuronal excitability disorders.
