Michael is Director of the Bio21 Institute and NHMRC Leadership Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology, University of Melbourne. He completed a BSc in chemistry at ANU followed by a D.Phil. in protein crystallography from Oxford University. He has published over 300 papers with a focus on membrane interacting proteins.
Research Interests
The Parker lab employs structural biology to understand how proteins involved in disease work and then use this information to discover drugs. The lab has a particular interest in membrane interacting proteins involved in infection, neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.
