Prof. Patrick Sexton

Patrick Sexton is a NHMRC Senior Principal Research Fellow and Director of the ARC Centre for Cryo-electron Microscopy of Membrane Proteins. He is a leader in the study of GPCRs, biased agonism, and also on allosteric interactions between GPCRs and other proteins and small molecule ligands.  Patrick and Denise are Co-lab heads in the Metabolic G Protein-Coupled Receptor Biology group.

Research Interests

The Metabolic G Protein-Coupled Receptor Biology laboratory studies class B GPCRs, that include important targets for metabolic diseases (diabetes, obesity, osteoporosis). Their laboratory uses a multidisciplinary approach that encompasses structural & computational biology, molecular modelling, cell signal assays, bioassays and animal models.
