Peter is joint head of the WEHI Structural Biology Division and an NHMRC Leadership Fellow. His research has revealed details of the molecular regulation of cell death to inform the development of therapeutics, including work published in Cell, Mol Cell, Immunity and NSBMB, and in patents licensed to pharma.
Research Interests
The Czabotar lab seeks to understand how programmed cell death is controlled at the molecular level, focussing on:
– The control of apoptosis by the Bcl-2 family of proteins.
– Designing therapeutics to target Bcl-2 protein family regulated cell death.
– Understanding how MLKL regulates necroptotic cell death.
